Termite Control

Subterranean termites are the single biggest structural threat to buildings in Dar es Salaam. We treat the soil, not just the wood.

Why it matters

Termites work from the soil upward, often for months before any damage is visible above the skirting board. By the time you see mud tubes or hollow-sounding wood, the colony has usually been active for a while. Humidity and rainfall in Dar es Salaam accelerate colony growth, which is why termite activity is highest during and just after the Masika rains.

Signs to look for

  • Mud tubes running up exterior walls or foundations
  • Hollow-sounding skirting boards or door frames
  • Discarded wings near windows and light fittings
  • Soft or crumbling wood that looks fine on the surface

How we treat it

We inspect the full perimeter and any visible timber, then apply a non-repellent soil treatment around the foundation so worker termites carry it back to the colony. For active infestations indoors, we use targeted baiting stations that are checked on a follow-up visit.
