Why it matters

A trap without a sealed entry point is a temporary fix — more rodents just move in behind the first one. Kitchens, godowns and ground-floor units in Dar es Salaam are especially exposed because of gaps around pipes, drainage and roofing.

Signs to look for

• Droppings near food storage or under sinks
• Gnaw marks on packaging, wiring or wood
• Scratching sounds in ceilings or walls at night
• A stale, musky smell in enclosed spaces

How we treat it

We inspect the property for entry points and existing damage, place traps and bait stations in active zones, and seal identified gaps where practical. Bait stations are checked and restocked on the follow-up visit.
